And, at the Burn Institute, there is truly something for everyone.
The Burn Institute is a busy place and we always need help. You may be asked to do work on the computer, such as research or data entry, help the staff prepare for an upcoming event, work on special mailings, file and many other administrative tasks that will help the staff stay organized and focused on our important mission!
Fire Service Personnel
The San Diego – Imperial County Fire Fighters Advisory Council to the Burn Institute (FFACBI) is a group of volunteers made up from local fire service personnel throughout the county (membership is limited to fire personnel only). The FFACBI’s largest events are the Annual Fire & Safety Expo and Firefighter Demolition Derby and the Countywide Firefighter Boot Drive.
Countywide Boot Drive
This one-day event is held each Spring. Hundreds of volunteer firefighters take to the streets to collect donations in their boots for the Burn Institute. This is the largest one-day fundraiser of the year and we need hundreds of firefighters. Every person counts and every hour can bring in hundreds. We Need You!
The Burn Institute Auxiliary is a group of volunteers who play an integral role in the ongoing success of the Burn Institute.
The only qualifications you need are: a positive attitude, lots of energy, team spirit, and a smile!
Membership is open to everyone. Become a member and make new friends and partake in planning the Annual Chief’s Golf Classic & Party in the Paddock!
The Burn Institute is involved with a variety of events throughout the year. You can choose from community events such as health fairs that are held at schools, neighborhoods, fire stations or corporations or from any of our special event fundraisers:
•Burn Run 5K (February) •Fire & Safety Expo/Firefighter Demolition Derby (June)
• San Diego County Fire Chiefs’ Association Golf Classic and Party in the Paddock (October)
