Burn Survivor Day at Belmont Park
Belmont Park opened their doors and rides to burn survivors and their families for a day of socially distanced fun and sun. Everyone enjoyed a full day of rides, roller coasters, and activities. Many of our young burn survivors reconnected with their friends they had met at Camp Beyond the Scars in previous years. Families were able to see other members of their community for the first time in-person in over a year.
The mental, physical, and emotional recovery from a burn injury can be a roller coaster, and this past year hasn’t been easy for anyone. The Burn Institute is thrilled to be able to have thoughtful in-person events that help keep our community connected and show those with new injuries that there is a support system available to them and their families.
