DESCRIPTION:Out of an abundance of caution for our staff\, volunteers\, burn survivors\, and the community\, we have made the decision to postpone our 5K. We plan on rescheduling this wonderful event and cannot wait to show everyone the amazing venue at Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center where you can run/walk and help raise funds for the Burn Institute.\nYou can fill out the form below to receive an update once we have a new date!\n\nEvery year\, we host a spirited 5K to support our organization and promote Burn Awareness Week (February 6-12\, 2022). This family-friendly run is being held on Saturday\, February 5 at the Chula Vista Elite Training Center. The event will showcase community partners\, including local fire service\, as part of our Burn Prevention Expo and focus on raising awareness for contact burns–when skin comes in contact with a hot object like coals from a fire-pit or a hot iron. Once you’ve completed the race\, you will enjoy a traditional Firehouse Pancake Breakfast! \nWe invite you to bring your friends and family for a wonderful morning on the bay\, raising funds to support burn prevention education and burn survivor support programs! With your help\, we prevent burns and save lives. \nEntry fee for the event is $40 for adults and $20 for children. All participants receive a medal to celebrate their 5K accomplishment! Register here!  \nBurn survivors and their immediate family members are invited to participate in the run for free. Fire departments from across San Diego County modify clunkers to smash head to head with fellow departments. The event consists of three initial heats\, two last-chance qualifying heats and then a final round where the last car standing is crowned the champ!
