The Open Mic Community Event Series is open to anyone who identifies as a survivor of a burn injury and their loved ones. It is an open space to share personal accounts\, stories\, and create empowerment and unity among the burn community. To attend this event\, you are not required to speak; you’re welcome to join the event to support others sharing their stories. \nWhat do you mean by story? Our personal accounts – what we have survived\, what these experiences mean to us\, and the things we have learned along the way – are what we mean by “stories.” Stories can be communicated with or without words\, literal or metaphorical\, happy\, sad\, or both! We welcome creative expression and aim to share an open\, nonjudgmental space. Our community of burn survivors and loved ones is diverse and filled with various stories of recovery and growth.
