Volunteer Opportunities

How to Support the Burn Institute

Many ways to get involved: Installing smoke alarms for seniors, Camp Beyond the Scars, event support, and more. Let us know your interest!

Smoke Alarm Installation Volunteer

Help keep seniors safe in their homes. You will pair up with another volunteer and install smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and review fire safety information with home owners. Background check and screening required. Training provided.

Event Volunteers

We deliver several fun events each year. Assist with our silent auction, sell t-shirts at the Demolition Derby, support the golf classic, family picnic, or holiday event. Events are a fun way to give back and support a great cause.

Community Outreach Volunteer

Help us spread important fire/burn safety education with community events like managing our table at a fire department open house or a safety fair with a community partner (e.g., SDG&E). Hand out fire and burn prevention information and interact with community members. Educating our community is an impactful way to help.

Fire Safe Kids

Assist our Fire Safe Kids team with phone calls, emails, and the scheduling of presentations. Also, help the team conduct presentations at local elementary schools and with community partners.
