Celebrating 26 Years of Courage and Care! The countywide Boot Drive has become a hallmark event. Each year, hundreds of uniformed firefighters from fire departments hop aboard their engines and collect donations in their boots during the morning and evening commutes. Motorists fill those boots with their spare change – $1, $5, $20 – even $100 bills. All the funds stay in San Diego and Imperial Counties.

It’s easy to give. Banners with QR codes will hang at fire stations throughout the month. The banners and the signage used will also include QR codes for contactless payment as a way to give.

Proceeds benefit the Burn Institute’s fire and burn prevention education programs, and burn survivor support programs (like Camp Beyond the Scars for burn-injured children 8–17 years old.) Our unique camp provides a safe place for hundreds of young burn survivors to share and thrive in a supportive environment.
