Burn Run 5K
February 1, 2020
Every year, we host a spirited 5K to support the Burn Institute and promote Burn Awareness Week.
When you run or walk in the Burn Run 5K, you raise funds to support burn prevention education and burn survivor support programs!
Among children age 4 and under, scald injuries are the most prevalent burn injury. Scald injuries are painful and require prolonged treatment – and can result in lifelong scarring and even death. The prevention of scalds is always preferable to treatment.
How do you prevent scalds? Simple changes in behavior and the home environment. Specific scald safety tips and information will be available to all participants at the Burn Run.
With your help, we prevent burns and save lives. The Burn Run 5K will showcase local community partners including our fire service. Bring your family and friends!
