Camp Beyond the Scars 2025

Camp Beyond the Scars 2025

Camp Beyond the Scars 2025 (July 14-18) was truly unforgettable—a powerful testament to hope, connection, and healing. New and renewed friendships and uniting hearts from across our community to embrace growth and resilience. Each day was infused with positive words and how they apply to our lives and aspirations —Inspire, Compassion, Gratitude, Community, Bravery, Friendship.

Throughout the week, the remarkable support of our community partners, staff, board members, sponsors, and volunteers embodied our collective spirit to build bonds that heals and uplifts.

Our celebration culminated in a joyful dance, a spontaneous expression of unity and freedom, as we played with face paint and reflected on our gratitude wall—reminding us of the light we carry inside. The photo booth captured joy and courage. Our final circle-up was a special space to share stories, tears, and triumphs from the week. At the closing ceremonies, each camper was honored and celebrated for their presence, value, and their unique contributions.

About: Established in 1987, camp is specifically designed for burn injured children ages 8-17. In addition, survivors ages 18-21 participated in a junior counselor component ‘Leaders-In-Training’. The journey of a burn survivor can be very challenging and isolating. Through camp, we strive to empower survivors to tap into their innate strengths and to see that their scars reflect survival and resilience.
