World Burn Congress 2023

The Phoenix Society held their World Burn Congress in-person for the first time since 2019! 20 Burn Survivors and Caregivers from San Diego traveled to Maryland for a weekend of re-connecting with the national burn community. World Burn Congress is created by burn survivors, for burn survivors, to identify and understand the issues that impact the daily lives of those associated with burn trauma.
This amazing weekend had so many opportunities for burn survivors to connect, listen to one another, learn, grow, heal, and share. Participants heard from speakers, participated in workshops, and listened to one another tell their stories during Open Mic sessions. Over the weekend, the San Diego group met burn survivors from across the country and gained new skills and mindsets to help in their healing journey.
